Bats Left Throws Right
Bats Left Throws Right is a startup Sports Science podcast focusing on the positive impact of ambidexterity in athletes. The podcast’s founders reached out to me to help them develop a logo mark and brand for them. It was a challenging task considering the length of the podcast’s name. For our core logo, we’ve designed a pentagonal shape with the acronym BLTR centered within it and angled at -45º. The pentagon symbolizes home plate for baseball and the BLTR leverages the athletic font Hardora. The letters are manipulated horizontally to create a wider form that utilizes the space within the plate efficiently. There are two versions of the logo to be used dependent on the medium, one for smaller web placements (podcast name written in large type above the plate at -45º angle) and larger print. placements (podcast name written atop the plate at a 45º angle).
Logos
For our color palette, we drew inspiration from MLB teams like the Padres, Royals and Athletics. Everyone was so pleased with the look of all color themes, that we decided not to choose only one, but keep it ambiguous.
